Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

Fearfully and Wonderfully Made
2018

This series of work was created as a means to dive deeper into the Christian doctrine in a more explicit and less symbolic way. To explore what it means to claim ownership over oneself in a religious society that preaches to you that your body is not your own. Through the series, I work to reclaim the dogma for those who exist outside of the strict male/female binary espoused by the religious wing. I look deeper into the words of the bible and at how they reflect the views of society at large. But also, find how they can be a motto of self-love and acceptance.

To know your body is holy. To know that you have, maybe fearfully, yet wonderfully, made yourself.
