Growth Cycle
2017-2021
This series started in 2017 as a way to document the bodily transformation that occurred from hormone therapy. I carved out the new foliage that was growing on my body from the linoleum and printed several versions. Each background reflects a different shade of my mood towards the changes.
Years later, during the pandemic, I had the opportunity to revisit the series and reflect on those bodily changes from a new perspective. I was able to more comfortably reveal myself with these changes. Printing each layer by hand to more deeply process my feelings with these changes. Finally turning my face toward the acceptance of this body, new growths and all.
